They wanted her to be Russian and Caucasian. She's a top KGB spy. I came in and they didn't know what to do. So I said, "I can do a Russian accent, and I can speak Spanish." Which I did very well. They wanted to offer it to me, but couldn't figure out how to explain me. I said, "I'm a cold war baby from a Cuban father/Russian mother. I speak Russian and Spanish." Which is true. There are people in Russia age 35-45 who are exactly that. My character was very popular.
Sydney Bristow is an international spy recruited out of college and trained for espionage and self-defense.
