I had two auditions that day: a soap hottie and this, a crazy street person. I couldn't carry a complete change, so I dressed for the soap. When I went in for this I was sure I wouldn't get it—too glamorous, too tall—the usual. I did the scene and got the part. The director said I was authentic. After this I realized that there are people out there who are willing to take a shot on me.
