I was just finishing Hercules when I literally walked across the lot and did this role in Xena. I went from pirate queen, to queen of Egypt in one wardrobe change. My playing this role became very significant to African-American fans because of their identification with Cleopatra as a black African.  |

Xena, a mighty warrior and healer, once led a band of outlaws that terrorized all of Greece. She has come to regret the harm she caused and now, with her companion Gabrielle, travels to the countryside seeking adventure and fighting the forces of evil.
